On Saturday, March 22, former Pleasant Grove High School standout Kawika Akina’s current collegiate team the NYU Violets lost 64-60 against the Trinity Bantams in the NCAA Division III Basketball Championship Tournament.

Hosted in Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, this was the first game against the Trinity Bantams during the championship.

Kawika Akina’s hometown is Kahuku and game position is guard.
