Utah Valley University concluded its wrestling season on March 20 at the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Cleveland, where all four remaining Wolverines were eliminated on day two of the tournament. The event took place at Rocket Arena and marked the end of the second year under head coach Adam Hall.
This year, Utah Valley tied for the second-most NCAA qualifiers in program history by sending five student-athletes to the championships. Three seniors—Haiden Drury, Jack Forbes, and David Evans—finished their collegiate careers during this tournament, while Kael Bennie and Caleb Uhlenhopp are expected to return next season.
Drury qualified for his second NCAA appearance as a Washington native and was the only representative from his state in this year’s championships. He ended his career with 82 wins for Utah Valley and a total of 91 collegiate victories after starting at Fresno State. Forbes completed his time as a Wolverine with two wins at this year’s championships, finishing with 60 career victories. Evans made an impact in his single season at Utah Valley by securing wins over two semifinalists in the country at 149 pounds.
Uhlenhopp also won two matches during the tournament and has one year of eligibility left. He finished this season with 18 wins, facing only NCAA qualifiers during both Big 12 and national championship events. Bennie wrapped up his redshirt-sophomore campaign with 15 wins against a challenging schedule that included facing NCAA qualifiers in most of his matches.
Head coach Adam Hall said, “I’m proud of our overall growth this season. Although we did not accomplish our goal of getting onto the podium, I’m grateful for Haiden, David, and Jack for how much they put into our program. Caleb and Kael gained valuable experience this weekend and will be hungry this offseason. I’m also excited about our incoming freshmen and the rest of our team that has been putting in time this year. Our staff expects to have healthy competition this coming year and for the program to make another jump. Lastly, I want to shout out our loyal fans, families, and donors for all of their support. Go Wolverines!”
Looking ahead, Utah Valley anticipates returning key wrestlers next season along with new recruits as they aim to build on their recent progress.
