The Utah Valley University women’s golf team is set to participate in the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, which will take place from March 6 to 8 at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah. The event is hosted by Southern Utah University and will feature ten teams competing over a total of 54 holes.

The tournament will use a stroke play format across three days, with each team playing 18 holes per day. All rounds are scheduled to begin with shotgun starts each morning. Due to possible frost delays, Friday’s opening round is planned for a 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time start. Teams will compete using a play-five, score-four format.

Participating teams include Southern Utah, Idaho State, Stetson, Weber State, Loyola Chicago, Utah Tech, Omaha, Wyoming, Westminster, and Utah Valley.

Sunbrook Golf Club will serve as the venue for the tournament. Play will take place on both the Pointe and Blackrock courses at the St. George location. The course measures 5,914 yards and is set up as a par-72 layout.

Utah Valley’s lineup for this week includes Chloe Jang, Valentina Zuleta, Maria Ortiz, Rylie Rodriguez, and Alyssa Butterfus. Competing as individuals are Mia Pace, Pati Uluave, and Jacklyn Gonzalez.

In their previous outing at the West Texas Classic in Abilene, Texas, Chloe Jang achieved her best collegiate finish by placing second out of 88 players with a three-round total of two-over-par 212 (77-64-71). This result marked her third top-five finish of the season.

Looking ahead on their schedule, Utah Valley is slated to compete next at the Bobcat Desert Classic from April 13 to 15 at Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona. That event will be hosted by Montana State.
