Utah Valley’s women’s basketball team ended its 2025-26 season on March 19 with an 80-50 loss to the University of San Francisco at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. Cambree Blackham led the Wolverines with 16 points, while senior Kaylee Headrick contributed 10 points and seven rebounds. San Francisco was paced by Candy Edokpaigbe, who scored 20 points on efficient shooting.
The game marked the end of Utah Valley’s campaign, finishing with a record of 16-15 and a fourth-place standing in their final year in the Western Athletic Conference. The Dons shot nearly 57 percent from the field and made half of their three-point attempts, recording their best shooting performance of the season. With this win, San Francisco advanced to face Montana State in the second round on Sunday, March 22.
Utah Valley started slowly but narrowed the gap early in the first quarter after Tessa Chaney entered and scored off a rebound. Headrick provided an early spark by scoring six points in the opening period, helping close USF’s lead to four points. Gracie Sorenson added 11 points for Utah Valley, including a layup that brought her team within three early in the second quarter before San Francisco pulled away.
Despite efforts from Blackham and Sorenson to keep Utah Valley competitive in the third quarter—including a brief run—the Dons maintained control by responding quickly to each Wolverine push. In addition to individual performances, two Wolverines reached career milestones: Kylee Mabry tied for eighth all-time at Utah Valley with her 112th career game played, while Saige Gibb moved into ninth place all-time with her 111th appearance.
Looking ahead, Utah Valley will seek to build on consecutive postseason appearances as it transitions from the Western Athletic Conference to The Big West for the next season.
