Utah Valley lost to the Tarleton State Texans, 7-2, on Senior Day according to an April 18 announcement. The game took place in Orem, Utah, and featured standout performances from Tatum Hall and Britney Moreno.

The match was significant as it honored eight graduating seniors from the Utah Valley team. These seniors—Angelique Mann, Kendyl Purdy, Mya Higareda, Hannah Ortega, Emma Haygood, Britney Moreno, Payge Armendariz, and Bailey Marvin—were recognized before and after the game for their contributions. Head coach Cody Thomson started all eight seniors in their final home conference game.

During the game, pitcher Hannah Ortega held Tarleton State to one earned run over three-plus innings. The Wolverines stayed close throughout much of the contest but could not overcome a late four-run surge by the Texans in the seventh inning. Tatum Hall hit her tenth home run of the season during the sixth inning. According to Utah Valley’s athletics department release, Hall became only the second left-handed batter in program history to reach double-digit home runs in a season.

Britney Moreno contributed two hits and an RBI for Utah Valley. Despite these efforts and a late push that included another RBI single from Moreno in the seventh inning, UVU could not close the gap against Tarleton State.

The Wolverines will finish their home schedule on Tuesday when they face Utah State Aggies with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. MDT.
