Utah Valley’s track and field team finished its weekend of competition on April 11, earning six top-10 performances across three meets in Azusa, California; Salt Lake City; and Ogden, Utah.
The team’s results highlight a strong showing as athletes set personal records and improved their standings in school history. These performances reflect the ongoing progress of the program during a busy stretch of the outdoor season.
At the Weber State meet in Ogden on Friday, Grace Degarimore led with a new personal record of 49.81 meters in the women’s discus, solidifying her position as second all-time for Utah Valley. Cale Stinebaugh also achieved a personal best with a throw of 44.97 meters to move from tenth to eighth all-time. In men’s hurdles, Matthew Maclennan ran 14.16 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to claim third place on Utah Valley’s all-time list.
Skyler Roper entered eighth place all-time for Utah Valley with his mile time of 4:08.14, while Lyza Yetter moved into tenth on the women’s side by finishing her mile in 5:03.65.
At the Bryan Clay Multis in Azusa, Neal Berkey scored highest among three decathletes from Utah Valley with a total of 6,709 points; Cole Johnson followed with 5,948 points while Joey Trageser was unable to finish.
In Salt Lake City at the Utah Spring Open, weather delays forced several withdrawals but Emily Conlin matched her pole vault personal best at 3.85 meters—fourth best all-time for Utah Valley. In sprints and jumps before weather interruptions, Gavin Stafford (10.58), Kade Thompson (10.78), and Garrett Nelson (10.92) took first through fourth places respectively in the men’s 100-meter dash; Ella Hopper won the women’s 400 meters with a season-best time of 58.90 seconds; Olivia Pixton secured second place in triple jump at an outdoor season-best mark of 11.49 meters.
Looking ahead, Utah Valley plans to compete next weekend at three Southern California events: ULV Leopard Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational, and Beach Invitational.
