Utah Valley University announced on Apr. 8 that its women’s softball team will travel to Texas for a three-game Western Athletic Conference series against the Abilene Christian Wildcats this weekend.

The upcoming series is important as it marks the last time Utah Valley and Abilene Christian will face each other as WAC rivals before UVU moves to The Big West and ACU joins the UAC next season. The games are scheduled for a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.m. MDT, followed by a final game on Saturday at 11 a.m. MDT, with all matches available for streaming on ESPN+.

In their most recent outing, Utah Valley secured a close 4-3 win over BYU in Provo during the Crosstown Clash, marking back-to-back road wins in the series and extending their streak of winning at least one game against BYU for three consecutive seasons. Payge Armendariz pitched a complete game while Angelique Mann contributed two runs batted in.

Britney Moreno enters the weekend with notable momentum, having reached base safely in her last 17 games and currently holding a nine-game hitting streak. Tatum Hall also stands out after going 10-for-14 with two home runs and four doubles last week, setting several program records including most RBIs (13) over any three-game span in team history.

The Wolverines are also approaching another milestone: with their next stolen base, they will reach 50 steals in a season for only the seventh time ever and first since 2022. In terms of head-to-head matchups, Utah Valley holds an overall record of eight wins and three losses against Abilene Christian.

Looking ahead, Utah Valley will return home after this series to host Tarleton State Texans for their final home games of the season.
