Utah Valley to meet Tarleton State in WAC women’s basketball quarterfinals

Utah Valley University has secured the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament after finishing conference play with a 9-9 record. The Wolverines are set to face fifth-seeded Tarleton State in the first quarterfinal matchup, scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. MT (noon PT). The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The WAC announced that California Baptist, which finished as the regular-season champion, holds the top seed and will play against the winner of the Utah Valley and Tarleton State game on Friday at 1 p.m. MT (noon PT).

Other tournament matchups include UT Arlington facing Utah Tech in a 6/7 seed contest on Wednesday. The victor of that game will advance to play No. 3 Southern Utah in Thursday’s second quarterfinal.

Abilene Christian, seeded second, received a bye into the semifinals and is set to compete against either Southern Utah or the winner from the UT Arlington versus Utah Tech matchup.

The full tournament will be available for streaming on ESPN+, while the championship game is scheduled to air on ESPNU on Saturday, March 14, at 1:30 p.m. MT (12:30 p.m. PT).
