Utah Valley baseball will host Colorado Mesa on March 11 at UCCU Ballpark, marking the first regular-season matchup between the two programs since 2004.

The game is notable as it brings together Utah Valley and a strong Division II opponent, Colorado Mesa, which is currently ranked No. 4 in the NCBWA Division II Top 25 poll. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Jordan Bianucci and Ethan Jordan providing commentary, while audio coverage will be available on local ESPN radio stations and GoUVU.com.

Utah Valley enters the game after winning seven of its last eight contests, including a series win over Northern Colorado where the team scored 45 runs. Brody Block contributed six hits and six runs during that stretch, while Hunter Katschke added two home runs and seven RBIs. On the pitching side, Quinn Holt recorded nine strikeouts in his latest outing, and Cooper Littledike secured his first win of the season with nearly three hitless innings against Northern Colorado.

Colorado Mesa arrives with a 17-game winning streak and an overall record of 18-2. The Mavericks feature several hitters batting above .300, led by Trevor Tse at .396. Kolby Felix leads the team in home runs (five) and has driven in 21 runs, while Ezra Farmer has tallied a team-high 23 RBIs. Pitcher CJ Zwahlen is expected to make his first start of the season for Colorado Mesa after five relief appearances.

The last official meeting between Utah Valley and Colorado Mesa was in Grand Junction in 2004 when the Mavericks swept a four-game series. While they have played fall exhibition games more recently, those do not count toward their official records.

Following Wednesday’s matchup, Utah Valley will conclude its homestand with a two-game series against Cincinnati beginning Monday night. Cincinnati holds a record of 13-4 this season.
