The Utah Valley University men’s golf team will participate in the 2026 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Golf Championship from April 27 through April 29 at the Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch – The Dye Course in McKinney, Texas.
The event holds significance as the winning team will secure an automatic berth to the NCAA Regional Championships. Seven conference programs are set to compete for the league title, including Utah Valley, Abilene Christian, California Baptist, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, Utah Tech and UT Arlington.
“It’s always exciting to compete for a conference championship, and our guys are looking forward to the opportunity,” Chris Curran, head coach of Utah Valley’s men’s golf team, said.
The tournament will follow a three-day format consisting of 54 holes of stroke play with one round scheduled each day. Team scoring will use a play-five, count-four structure. The Dye Course at Stonebridge Ranch was designed by Pete Dye with assistance from his son and opened in 1988. It is a par-72 course measuring over 7,000 yards and includes features such as railroad ties and island tees. The course has previously hosted PGA qualifying schools and NCAA Championships.
Utah Valley’s lineup for this championship consists of Paxton Maxwell, Colby Hutchens, Ty Brady, Andrew Hawk and Isaiah Ellis. JJ Tomsick is listed as substitute for the Wolverines. In their last outing at the Arkansas State Spring Invitational in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Utah Valley finished ninth out of eleven teams with Paxton Maxwell tying for sixteenth place individually.
Live scoring updates during the championship will be available online.
