Utah Valley University’s Eme Stout and Maddie Passmore were named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the meet week ending March 29, according to an April 1 announcement from the league.

The recognition highlights recent achievements by both athletes. Stout, a freshman sprinter from Saratoga Springs, Utah, set a personal best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.74 seconds. This result is now fifth-best in program history and ranks as the third-fastest in the WAC this season. She also contributed to Utah Valley’s second-place finish in the 4×100 relay with a team time of 46.62 seconds.

Passmore, a junior specializing in jumps from Clovis, California, matched Utah Valley’s school record in the triple jump at 12.26 meters during competition on Thursday. She also won the long jump event with her season-best mark of 5.98 meters. With these results, Passmore now holds or shares both indoor and outdoor triple jump records for Utah Valley.

Both athletes are scheduled to compete again soon as they join their teammates at three different meets: UNLV Rebel ELITE in Las Vegas, Stanford Invitational, and Mike Fanelli Track Classic in California’s Bay Area on April 3 and April 4.

Their recent performances continue to build momentum for Utah Valley’s track and field program as it enters an important stretch of its outdoor season.
