Utah Valley University announced on Mar. 22 that its softball team will conclude a six-game homestand by hosting the Nevada Wolf Pack and the BYU Cougars at Wolverine Softball Field. The Wolverines are set to play Nevada on Monday at 5 p.m. Mountain Time, followed by a matchup against BYU on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Both contests will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

These non-conference games come as Utah Valley looks to build on recent momentum after taking two out of three games from Utah Tech to open Western Athletic Conference play. The team currently shares first place in the conference standings with California Baptist University and the University of Texas at Arlington, each holding a 2-1 record.

Recent performances have seen standout contributions from sophomore Tatum Hall, who has recorded hits in seven consecutive games and leads the team with a .424 batting average. Senior Britney Moreno also made program history by recording her twelfth career triple, surpassing the previous record held by Morgan Smith. Moreno is tied for third nationally in triples this season and is approaching both school and conference milestones.

The Wolverines have been effective offensively throughout the season, often scoring early and maintaining leads. They have scored first in 19 games, winning 17 of those, and have posted four or more runs in all but five contests so far.

Nevada enters Monday’s game as defending Mountain West champions under head coach Victoria Hayward. The Wolf Pack have faced several top-ranked opponents this year and feature power hitter Hannah Di Genova, who has tallied 11 home runs and 38 runs batted in. In their series history, Nevada leads Utah Valley 15-7; however, UVU has won the last three meetings between the teams.

BYU arrives after playing one of the toughest schedules nationally and recently defeated No. 21 Oklahoma State. The Cougars hold a significant advantage in their all-time series with Utah Valley but have split their last four meetings over two seasons.

Following these matchups, Utah Valley will travel to Riverside, California for a three-game series against California Baptist University starting Friday.
