Utah Valley University’s Kaden Carpenter has been named the University Credit Union WAC Hitter of the Week, according to an announcement from the Western Athletic Conference on Tuesday. This is the first time Carpenter has received a conference player of the week award during his collegiate career. Utah Tech’s Talan Kelly was recognized as Pitcher of the Week.

“Kaden committed to a simpler approach this week, and he was rewarded for it,” said UVU head coach Nate Rasmussen. “When he allows the game to come to him, he is very scary in the box.”

Carpenter, who is from American Fork, had a strong performance at bat over the weekend for Utah Valley. He went 8-for-17 with two home runs and 11 RBIs. Both home runs occurred during the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, with each hit going to the opposite field. Over the weekend, Carpenter maintained a .550 on-base percentage and recorded five extra-base hits.

He also achieved three multi-RBI games during the series, including three RBIs on Friday and another three in Saturday’s first game before setting a season-high with four RBIs in Saturday’s second game—just one short of his career high set at Utah in 2024.

The Wolverines are scheduled to play Northern Colorado in a five-game series starting Friday, March 6 at UCCU Ballpark.
