Utah Valley University’s women’s softball team will play against Weber State on Tuesday, March 31, in Ogden. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. MDT start and will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live statistics available at weberstatesports.com.

The matchup marks the conclusion of the season series between the two in-state rivals. Utah Valley is aiming to recover after being swept by California Baptist over the weekend and experiencing a five-game losing streak. In their recent series, the Wolverines lost three games by scores of 3-0, 3-2 (in eleven innings), and 6-3.

So far this season, Utah Valley has performed strongly when scoring at least four runs, holding a record of 19 wins and five losses under those circumstances. The team has often played from ahead, scoring first in nineteen games with a record of seventeen wins and two losses when doing so. However, last week they did not score first in any game and have not held a lead since their walk-off win against Utah Tech on March 21.

Graduate center fielder Angelique Mann has been effective against Weber State this year, going four-for-six with one home run, two doubles, four runs batted in (RBIs), and two runs scored across two games. Senior Britney Moreno also contributed significantly with four hits out of seven at-bats—including two triples—five RBIs, and two runs scored. On the pitching side, freshman right-handed pitcher Ella Miller delivered seven innings while allowing only one earned run over previous matchups versus Weber State.

The all-time series between Utah Valley and Weber State is tied at twenty-one games each since Weber State reinstated its softball program in 2010. This season’s earlier meetings saw Utah Valley win both contests: once by a score of six to four in St. George and again nine to one (in five innings) at Orem.

Looking ahead after Tuesday’s contest, Utah Valley will host UT Arlington for key Western Athletic Conference matchups on Friday and Saturday as they seek to improve their position within conference standings.
