Utah Valley men’s golf sits 13th after second round at Bandon Dunes Championship

Utah Valley University’s men’s golf team completed the second round of the Bandon Dunes Championship on Mar. 9, with Ty Brady leading the team by shooting a 2-over-par 73 at Pacific Dunes Golf Course. The Wolverines are currently in 13th place out of 15 teams, holding a two-round total score of 17-over-par 585.

The tournament is significant for Utah Valley as it provides an opportunity to compete against strong collegiate programs and assess individual and team progress midway through the season. The final round will take place Tuesday at Bandon Dunes Resort.

Paxton Maxwell leads Utah Valley individually after carding a 3-over-par 74 in Monday’s second round, placing him tied for 37th overall with a two-round score of 2-over-par 144 (70-74). Brady’s performance included two birdies on the back nine, putting him tied for 43rd with a total of 3-over-par 145 (72-73).

Andrew Hawk, playing as an individual, shot a 1-over-par 72 and is tied for 52nd with a combined score of 5-over-par 147 (75-72). Colby Hutchens finished with an eight-over-par round and shares the tie for 60th place alongside Isaiah Ellis, both posting totals of six-over-par through two rounds. Elliot Bond recorded a twelve-over-par round and stands alone in ninety-third place.

The Wolverines will conclude their participation in the championship on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Live scoring updates will be available online.
