The Utah Valley University men’s golf team is set to continue its spring season at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, taking place March 31 and April 1 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona. The tournament will feature a field of 25 teams competing over two days and a total of 54 holes.

The event will use a stroke play format, with teams playing 36 holes on Tuesday starting with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., followed by the final round of 18 holes on Wednesday. The competition will follow a play-five, score-four structure.

Participating teams include Arkansas State, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, San Diego, San Francisco, South Dakota State, USC, Southern Utah, St. Mary’s, UC Irvine, UNLV, South Florida, UT Arlington, UTEP, Utah State, Utah Valley University (UVU), Weber State, Western Carolina, Wichita State and host school Wyoming.

Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club serves as the venue for the tournament. The course is set up as a par-72 layout measuring 7,330 yards and is recognized as one of the top public courses in the Southwest region.

Utah Valley’s lineup includes Paxton Maxwell; Ty Brady; Elliot Bond; Colby Hutchens; and Andrew Hawk. In their previous outing at the Bandon Dunes Championship in Oregon earlier this season—where Maxwell led UVU with a tie for fortieth place—the team finished fifteenth out of fifteen teams after three rounds totaling thirty-five over par.

After completing play at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic this week in Arizona,
the Wolverines are scheduled to travel to Jonesboro for the Arkansas State Spring Invitational April 13-14 before concluding their regular season later that month at the WAC Men’s Golf Championship.
