Utah Valley University’s women’s basketball team narrowly lost to Abilene Christian University, 58-57, in a close contest on Saturday at Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas.

The Wolverines held a 55-54 lead with just under a minute remaining after Cambree Blackham scored on a layup. In the final minute, Blackham and ACU’s Breanna Davis exchanged baskets four times. Davis ultimately made the decisive shot with 14 seconds left. Blackham attempted a last-second three-pointer but slipped and missed as time expired.

In the fourth quarter, ACU built up a four-point lead before Kylee Mabry tied it at 51 for Utah Valley with two consecutive baskets. After further exchanges—including free throws from Davis and another basket from Hull—Gracie Sorenson brought UVU within one point ahead of the dramatic final moments.
