Utah Valley University’s men’s basketball team will finish its regular season on Saturday night with a game against Utah Tech in the Old Hammer Rivalry at Burns Arena in St. George. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The Wolverines come into the matchup holding a 23–7 overall record and a 13–4 record in Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play. Earlier this week, they defeated Southern Utah, which secured their second consecutive WAC regular-season championship.

Head coach Todd Phillips has led Utah Valley to back-to-back conference titles for the first time in program history. Phillips is also a finalist for the 2025–26 Hugh Durham Award, which recognizes the top mid-major coach in Division I men’s basketball. “Phillips is the only coach in UVU history to lead a team to back-to-back WAC titles.”

This season, Utah Valley has ranked among national leaders in several statistical categories such as assists, steals, field-goal percentage, blocks and scoring margin. Within the WAC, they are leading in assists per game, blocks per game, field-goal percentage and scoring defense.

Redshirt sophomore forward Jackson Holcombe leads Utah Valley with averages of 15.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He also tops the team with 69 steals and 41 blocks this season. Holcombe recently set a new single-season school record for steals and was named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List for top mid-major players nationwide.

Redshirt junior guard Trevan Leonhardt continues his role as primary facilitator on offense and recently broke his own single-season school record for assists with 179 this year—surpassing last year’s mark of 178. Leonhardt ranks second all-time at Utah Valley both in career assists and career steals.

Utah Valley enters next week’s WAC Tournament in Las Vegas as the No. 1 seed with an automatic bye into the semifinals.

Utah Tech holds a conference record of 6–11 going into its final home game of the season at Burns Arena.

Saturday’s contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as well as on Wolverine Sports Network/ESPN The Fan.
