Utah Valley University is seeing several of its former men’s soccer players begin their professional seasons in 2026. Three alumni, Keegan Oyler, Omar Yehya, and Jojea Kwizera, are set to play key roles with their respective clubs.

Keegan Oyler and Omar Yehya will make their professional debuts with AC Boise as the club enters USL League One. Their first match is scheduled for Saturday against Sarasota Paradise in Florida at 5:30 p.m. MT and will be available to watch on ESPN+.

Jojea Kwizera starts his fifth professional season, and third with Rhode Island FC, on March 14 against Sporting Jacksonville. The game will kick off at 2 p.m. MT and can also be seen on ESPN+.

Oyler joined AC Boise recently after completing his college career at Utah Valley last fall. In the 2025 season, he led the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) with eight assists and earned second team All-Region and All-WAC honors. He contributed significantly to the team’s defensive record over two seasons, helping achieve a WAC-record six consecutive shutouts at the start of one season and supporting a league-best goals-against average in 2024.

Yehya signed his first professional contract in January following a strong collegiate career capped by winning the WAC Golden Boot award in 2024. That year he scored 12 goals and added three assists, tying Utah Valley’s program record for points in a single season with 27. Yehya was named first team All-Region, All-WAC, and Academic All-American. Last summer he played for Ballard FC in USL League Two, contributing to a Western Conference title and an appearance in the national championship game.

Kwizera completed his Utah Valley career in 2021 after leading the WAC with 11 assists—ranking fifth nationally—and scoring five goals that year. He became Utah Valley’s first MLS SuperDraft pick when selected by CF Montréal as the fifteenth overall pick in 2022. In June of 2024, Kwizera became the first Utah Valley men’s soccer player called up to a senior national team when he debuted for Rwanda; since then he has made fifteen appearances and scored twice for The Wasps.

Additionally, two other Utah Valley alumni are currently free agents seeking new opportunities. Zahir Vazquez finished his third pro season last fall with Chattanooga Redwolves SC of USL League One where he helped achieve the club’s best finish to date. Matt Gay recently concluded his seventh NFL season playing for both the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers.
