Utah Valley University’s track and field teams will compete at the 2026 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Indoor Championships in Spokane, Washington this Friday and Saturday. The women’s team enters as defending champions, while the men’s team seeks its first indoor title since 2015 after narrowly missing out last season.

Morning sessions for both days will be available for free on WAC International, and evening sessions will be broadcast on ESPN+. Competition starts at 10 a.m. MST each day, with live results posted on athletictiming.net.

In a pre-championship coaches’ poll, Utah Valley was picked as the favorite to win both the men’s and women’s titles. The women’s team shares co-favorite status with Tarleton State.

The Wolverines lead the conference in 10 events this season and have 17 athletes ranked in the top three across various events heading into the championships.

Senior sprinter Kade Thompson is expected to perform strongly in both the 60m and 200m events for the men’s team. Utah Valley runners also hold five of the six best times in the mile and top marks in both the 3k and 5k races this season.

For the women’s team, Utah Valley leads in distance events, holding top times in the mile, 3k, and 5k. Reagan Doman has recorded the fastest mile time, while Morgan Nokes leads both the 3k and 5k. The Wolverines have secured all top three spots in those two longer races.

Several former WAC champions from Utah Valley are aiming to reclaim or defend their titles this weekend. Ella Hopper will attempt to repeat her victory in the women’s 400m, while Neal Berkey (heptathlon) and Morgan Nokes (3000m and 5000m) look to return to form after missing last year’s championships.

After this event, Utah Valley will begin its outdoor track season at the Utah Tech Invitational scheduled for March 20-21 in St. George.
