Ty Brady led the Utah Valley University men’s golf team on April 13 after the first two rounds of the Arkansas State Spring Invitational, held at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The event is significant for Utah Valley as they enter the final round in ninth place out of eleven teams, with a combined score of 23-over-par 599 (304-295). The tournament provides an opportunity for players to compete against strong opponents and improve their standings.
Brady finished the day tied for 13th place individually, posting an even-par total of 144 across two rounds. He shot a 74 in his opening round and followed it up with a second-round score of 70, which was Utah Valley’s lowest round on Monday. Paxton Maxwell is currently tied for 21st after recording a two-round total of 146 (72-74).
Other Utah Valley golfers include Colby Hutchens, who is tied for 38th at eight-over-par after shooting rounds of 77 and 75. Andrew Hawk sits tied for 59th at thirteen-over-par (81-76), while Elliot Bond holds the sixty-seventh spot with a nineteen-over-par total (86-77). Competing as an individual, Isaiah Ellis is tied for forty-ninth place at ten-over-par following consecutive rounds of seventy-seven.
Arkansas State leads both the team competition with a twenty-under-par score and holds the individual lead through Thomas Schmidt’s nine-under-par performance over thirty-six holes. The final round will take place Tuesday morning.
