Brigham Young University announced on Mar. 24 that Tanner Nelson will participate in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships this week, which are being hosted by Georgia Tech.
Nelson, a junior from South Jordan, Utah, is scheduled to compete in three events: the 500 freestyle, the 1,650 freestyle, and the 400 individual medley. His participation highlights BYU’s representation at a national collegiate level.
According to the university’s announcement, Nelson will begin his competition with the 1,650 freestyle on Wednesday. He will then swim in the 400 individual medley on Thursday before finishing with the 500 freestyle event on Friday. Preliminary heats for each event are set to start at 8 a.m. Mountain Time with finals beginning at 4 p.m.
