The Office of U.S. Senator Mitt Romney has released a report summarizing the legislative achievements during his Senate term. Key accomplishments highlighted include the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, establishing a passport agency in Salt Lake City, creating the Wildfire Mitigation and Management Commission, banning e-cigarette sales to those under 21, and measures countering China. Additionally, Romney's team addressed over 10,000 constituent casework claims, responded to nearly a million pieces of constituent mail, and engaged with numerous Utah residents.

In a message accompanying the report, Senator Romney stated: “In just one month, I will reach the end of my Senate term—time has flown by. Over the last six years, we have faced many challenges. Yet, we’ve been able to accomplish important things for the Beehive State and our country. I’m also grateful for the tireless efforts of my team to improve the lives of Utahns."

Romney expressed gratitude for interactions with individuals and businesses in Utah that informed his work: “Throughout my term, I was fortunate to meet with thousands of individuals and local businesses who helped me learn about important opportunities as well as challenges facing Utah’s communities.”

He noted significant infrastructure developments and improvements in rural broadband access: “That partnership has led to expansion and improvement of our state’s infrastructure, increased access to rural broadband...and much more.”

Romney highlighted federal overreach issues impacting rural counties: “I’m proud of the work my team and I have done...fighting for more access and greater local input in public land matters.” He also emphasized assisting constituents with federal services like passport services.

Regarding bipartisan cooperation amidst divided government: “My time in the Senate has been marked by divided government...an opportunity for both parties to find common ground...breaking U.S. dependence on China...emergency COVID relief...bipartisan gun safety legislation."

Looking ahead at ongoing global challenges: “We still face big issues. The rise in authoritarianism around the world...the threats posed by AI will demand that elected officials come together.”

Concluding his statement with appreciation for serving Utah: "It has been a profound honor to serve Utah and the nation."

The full legislative accomplishments report is available online along with an accompanying video.
