Utah's Congressional Delegation, in partnership with the Department of State, has announced the organization of five "Passport Fairs" throughout the state. These fairs aim to provide passport services to Utahns in need or those whose passports are due to expire soon. The appointments can be scheduled from February 13 to 17 at five different locations.
The Utah delegation, consisting of U.S. Senators Mike Lee and Mitt Romney, along with Representatives John Curtis, Blake Moore, Burgess Owens, and Celeste Maloy, recognizes the growing demand for passport services in the state. They acknowledge that Utah is rapidly expanding as a center for global commerce and tourism, as well as being home to many individuals embarking on religious missions. Additionally, the state's population is growing rapidly. Unfortunately, Utahns have had to travel long distances to reach the nearest passport office.
While bringing a passport agency to Salt Lake City remains a top priority, the delegation is pleased to collaborate with the State Department in hosting these passport fairs at various locations throughout the state. This will allow Utahns to obtain expedited passport services closer to home.
The passport fairs will be held at the following locations:
- Weber State University, Community Outreach Center, Ogden on Tuesday, February 13, from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM MST.
- Salt Lake Community College, Jordan Campus, West Jordan on Wednesday, February 14, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM MST.
- Utah Valley University, Young Alumni Center, Orem on Thursday, February 15, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM MST.
- Bennett Federal Building, Salt Lake City on Friday, February 16, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM MST.
- Kiln Building, Lehi on Saturday, February 17, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST.
Utahns who wish to apply for a passport or renew an existing one can schedule an appointment at one of these locations through the provided links.
In order to apply for a passport or renew an existing one, individuals must bring the necessary documents to their appointment. These documents include the Primary Application Forms for a U.S. Passport.
This initiative by the Utah Congressional Delegation, in collaboration with the State Department, aims to meet the increasing demand for passport services in the state. By bringing these passport fairs to various locations, Utahns will have easier access to expedited passport services without having to travel long distances. Although the delegation remains committed to bringing a passport agency to Salt Lake City, the passport fairs provide a temporary solution that will benefit the residents of Utah.
