Alcohol & Event Permits for Alpine Parks

Let us know your opinion on if Kokernot or other City Parks should be able to occasionally host music events that could appeal to tourists and provide entertainment for residents, and if there should be an allowance for a beer/wine concession at these events.

Examples of use could be to host music gatherings or events that could draw tourism to the city on a limited case-by-case basis. The following rail guards would be in place if allowed:

1. Alcohol is prohibited within all city parks except at approved, permitted events which require the below.

2. The event will have to go through an approval process with the city. The event would require approval from  the City Manager, the Chief of Police, and the Director of Public Works. The Chief of Police approval would provide that an increased police presence will be available in the area.

3. All TABC guidelines and approvals will have to be followed for concessionaires which would include having a licensed/permitted vendor selling alcohol.

The current ordinances concerning alcohol at Alpine city parks can be found at https://library.municode.com/search?stateId=43&clientId=1000&searchText=alcohol&contentTypeId=CODES.
