Stonehenge of American Fork was the third largest nursing home in Utah County during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.
Records indicate the facility provided 119 beds, 35 more than the average number for Utah County in the same quarter. The center served an average of 85.4 residents over that period.
The CMS awarded Stonehenge of American Fork an overall rating of 4 out of 5, exceeding the statewide average rating of 3.4 for nursing homes in Utah.
Provo Rehabilitation and Nursing held the position of largest nursing home in Utah County for the quarter, operating 220 beds, while Orem Rehabilitation and Nursing Center followed with 120 beds.
As of the first quarter of 2026, Stonehenge of American Fork incurred one fine totaling $21,590 and one penalty.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show that the population of older adults in the country is continuing to grow, while younger age groups are seeing decreases. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans aged 65 and older increased by 13%, compared to a 1.7% decrease in the population under 18. The nation’s older adult population has expanded significantly since 1920, when there were 4.9 million older adults, reaching more than 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 report found that about half of Americans in this age group—an estimated 28 million—could need long-term services and supports, and more than one third may require nursing home care at some point.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education entity. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
