Seven athletes from the BYU Cougars were named to the All-Big 12 teams, according to an announcement from the conference on Apr. 8.

The recognition highlights strong performances by both men’s and women’s team members at recent competitions. The Big 12 Conference awards first-team honors to the top four finishers in each event, while those placing fifth through eighth are named to the second team.

On the men’s side, Peter Etzold earned both first- and second-team recognition for his results in the 200 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke events. Tanner Nelson was awarded first-team honors after competing in the 500 freestyle and 400 individual medley. Easton Mousser also received first-team recognition with a third-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle. Jacob Ballard, Will Bonnett, and Martí Llop were selected for second-team honors based on their event placements.

For the women’s program, Lucy Warnick was recognized as a first-team honoree after finishing third in the 400 individual medley. She was noted as BYU’s sole representative among women earning this distinction.

The announcement underscores achievements by these athletes during conference competition season. The structure of All-Big 12 selection is designed to highlight standout performances within each event category.
