Paje Rasmussen set a new school record in the 100-meter race at the Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium, clocking an 11.06 on Friday, Apr. 3.
The achievement highlights a strong showing for BYU Cougars Women’s Track & Field athletes during both the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational meets.
Rasmussen’s time of 11.06 marks her first outdoor school record and is her third overall, including indoor records and as part of the 4x400m relay squad. She qualified for Saturdayās final in fourth place after winning her heat, finishing just 0.05 seconds behind first place in the prelims. Her time currently ranks as the fourth-fastest in Division I NCAA this season.
Other notable performances included Kali McEuen finishing eighth in the final of the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.58 seconds after setting a No. 8 all-time program performance of 57.90 seconds during Thursdayās preliminary round. McEuen also qualified for Saturdayās final in the 100m hurdles with a ninth-place finish and a time of 13.27 seconds.
Abbie Scott won Thursday’s pole vault event by clearing a height of 4.25 meters (13-11¼), tying for fourth-best in program history alongside previous athletes Kari Clark (2010) and Christen Botteron Guenther (2012). Cailee Faulkner took third with a clearance of 4.10 meters (13-5¼).
At the Bobcat Invitational, Mae Johnson finished third in high jump by clearing 1.71 meters (5-7¼), continuing her streak of top-three finishes at all three outdoor meets this season so far.
Lia Pili secured fourth place in Fridayās hammer throw event with her best mark this season at 51.63 meters (169-4). Faulkner added another third-place pole vault finish at Bobcat Invitational, clearing just shy of her personal best at an outdoor mark of 4.20 meters (13-9¼).
Kaiah Fisher achieved a personal-best throw in discus on Thursday with a distance of 54.60 meters (179-1), maintaining fifth place on BYU’s all-time list, while Alysa Keller placed fourth in javelin throw with her effort measuring out to be over forty-seven meters.
