Utah Valley University announced on May 5 that sophomore Paxton Maxwell has been selected to the All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Second Team following his performance during the 2025-26 men’s golf season.

Maxwell’s recognition comes after he led the Wolverines with a 71.7 adjusted scoring average over 33 rounds. He recorded one tournament victory, two top-three finishes, and five top-10 results throughout the year.

A native of Magrath, Alberta, Maxwell began his season at the Ram Masters Invitational and achieved four top-seven finishes in five fall events. His standout performances included a runner-up finish at the Oregon State Invitational with a score of three-under-par 213 (72-74-67), and tying for medalist honors at the Nassau Intercollegiate by shooting a three-round total of two-over-par 212 (69-73-70).

In spring competition, Maxwell continued his strong play with a tenth-place finish at the Loyola Intercollegiate and placed seventh at The Watney after carding rounds of 71-71-72 for a total score of one-over-par 214.

The university said that Maxwell’s consistent play provided stability at the top of Utah Valley’s lineup and contributed significantly to leading the team in several events across both fall and spring seasons.

Maxwell’s selection to an all-conference team highlights his development as an athlete within collegiate golf. Observers will be watching how he builds on this success in future seasons.
