The No. 53 BYU women’s tennis team will continue its Big 12 schedule with a two-match road trip, traveling to Colorado on Thursday, March 19, before facing Texas Tech on Saturday, March 21.
The Cougars enter the weekend with a 13-4 overall record and a 2-3 mark in conference play. They are currently on a two-match win streak after recent home victories and remain undefeated at home this season with a 6-0 record. On the road, BYU has posted a solid 5-3 record.
BYU recently secured back-to-back wins over Cincinnati and West Virginia. In the match against Cincinnati, Bella Lewis delivered the clinching point in a close contest that ended 4-3 for the Cougars. Two days later, freshman Sage Bergeson sealed another victory for BYU against West Virginia with a decisive performance that led to a 4-2 result.
Thursday’s match in Boulder will see BYU face Colorado, an opponent they have historically performed well against, holding a 21-3 advantage in their all-time series. However, Colorado enters the week with a similar overall record of 13-5 and is also strong at home this season.
On Saturday, BYU will travel to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech at the McLeod Tennis Center. The Red Raiders lead the all-time series against BYU with four wins and no losses and share an identical overall (13-5) and conference (4-2) record as Colorado.
With momentum from recent performances and as conference play intensifies, BYU aims to maintain its confidence on the road and improve its standing within the Big 12.
