The NCAA announced on Mar. 23 the selections for the 2026 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships regionals, with No. 24 BYU set to compete in the Tempe Regional at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

This selection marks BYU’s thirteenth consecutive appearance at NCAA Regionals since 2012. The continued participation underscores the program’s consistency under head coach Guard Young, who has led the Cougars to postseason competition every season he has been with the team.

“Going back to Arizona, a Big 12 school, will be great,” head coach Guard Young said. “We went there earlier this season for a Big 12 meet and it’s an easier travel for us. I love the matchups we are going to be in with Georgia, Michigan State and SUU.”

The Tempe Regional will feature nine teams and run from Wednesday, April 1 through Sunday, April 5. BYU will compete in its first meet on Thursday, April 2 against No. 6 Georgia, No. 11 Michigan State and Southern Utah University at 2 p.m. Mountain Time.

Other teams participating include Arizona State and Arizona facing off on Wednesday; the winner of that dual will advance to a quad meet on Thursday evening against No.3 Florida, No.14 California and Penn State.

Three other regional sites were also announced: Lexington (Kentucky), Corvallis (Oregon), and Baton Rouge (Louisiana). The top thirty-six teams based on national qualifying score were selected for regional competition by the NCAA selection committee; these included sixteen seeded teams placed into specific brackets while remaining teams were assigned geographically among four sites.

Following regionals, eight teams along with individual qualifiers will move forward to nationals held April 16 and April 18 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
