Paxton Maxwell secured his sixth consecutive top-10 finish by tying for seventh place at The Watney Invitational, held at San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno, California. Maxwell completed the tournament with a three-round score of 1-over-par 214 (71-71-72), recording five birdies in Tuesday’s final round, including three on the front nine.

This result marks Maxwell’s sixth top-10 placement in seven tournaments during the 2025-26 season. Utah Valley teammate Colby Hutchens climbed six spots on the leaderboard after shooting a 2-over-par 73 in the final round, finishing tied for 48th with an overall score of 11-over-par 224 (79-72-73). Hutchens had two birdies on the back nine during his last round.

Other Utah Valley players included Ty Brady, who finished tied for 62nd with a total score of 16-over-par 229 (78-75-76) after a final-round 76. JJ Tomsick shot an 80 in his last round to tie for 67th at 19-over-par 232 (78-74-80), and Andrew Hawk posted a closing round of 79 to tie for 70th at 22-over-par 235 (76-80-79).

Utah Valley ended the tournament in twelfth place out of fourteen teams, posting a team total of 43-over-par 895 (303-292-300) after shooting a combined score of 300 in Tuesday’s final round.

“Pax didn’t have his best stuff this week but found a way to scrape out another top 10,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. “The putter went ice cold at times. It wouldn’t surprise me if he picks up another win soon.”

Utah Valley is scheduled to continue its spring season at the Bandon Dunes Championship from March 8–10 at Pacific Dunes in Bandon, Oregon.
