Lisa Shepherd has expressed her views on public health and wellness policies in a series of posts shared in early January 2026.
On January 5, 2026, Shepherd commented on the removal of fentanyl from communities, stating, “Removing fentanyl from dealers, users, and the positive effect doing so has on innocent contaminated bystanders is policy I agree with. Residue of meth and fentanyl use in trusted public places is a public health hazard.” Fentanyl contamination in public spaces has been identified as a significant concern for community safety and public health.
In another post dated January 8, 2026, Shepherd wrote, “I appreciate the goal to help the American people live healthier lives through better food choices.” This comment aligns with ongoing national efforts to promote healthy eating habits among Americans.
Later that same day, she added her support for rethinking traditional dietary guidelines: “Turning the pyramid upside down makes good sense.” The reference to “the pyramid” likely pertains to evolving discussions about updating or revising established nutritional frameworks.
Fentanyl remains a leading cause of drug overdose deaths in the United States. Public health authorities have raised concerns about accidental exposure to drug residues in community settings such as parks and restrooms. National initiatives continue to focus on reducing illicit opioid availability and educating the public about substance misuse risks. In parallel, government agencies have prioritized nutrition education programs aimed at combating chronic diseases linked to poor diet.
