Utah Valley redshirt junior guard Trevan Leonhardt and redshirt sophomore guard Jackson Holcombe were named to the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) All-Conference First Team and the WAC All-Defensive Team, according to a March 10 announcement by the league. The honors were part of the 2025-26 postseason awards voted on by conference head coaches.

The recognition highlights the strong performance of Utah Valley’s backcourt this season. Leonhardt and Holcombe played key roles in leading Utah Valley to win the WAC regular-season championship and secure the top seed for the upcoming Air Force Reserve WAC Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.

Leonhardt averaged 12.3 points, 6.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game this season. He is noted as the only player in the nation averaging at least 12 points, six assists, five rebounds, and two steals per game this year. Leonhardt also broke his own school record for single-season assists with a total of 188.

Holcombe contributed an average of 15.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field. He set a Utah Valley single-season record with 71 steals and leads his team in both scoring and rebounding.

Other major WAC awards included Dominique Daniels Jr. of California Baptist as Player of the Year, Rich Smith of Abilene Christian as Defensive Player of the Year, Elijah Duval of Southern Utah as Freshman of the Year, Dior Johnson of Tarleton State as Sixth Player of the Year, and Jon Judkins of Utah Tech as Coach of the Year.

Utah Valley will begin play in Friday’s semifinal round at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas against either UT Arlington or Southern Utah. A win would advance them to Saturday night’s championship game with a chance to claim their first WAC Tournament title.
