Jonah Heimuli achieved a new personal best in the indoor 400-meter race at the Colorado Last Chance Indoor Invitational, finishing with a time of 46.81 seconds. This performance placed him first in the event and moved him to No. 8 on Brigham Young University’s all-time list for the indoor 400 meters. Heimuli had previously contributed to BYU’s top-ranked outdoor 4×400-meter relay team during the 2025 season.
Heimuli also participated in the distance medley relay with teammates Carter Cutting, Jake Orr, and Tayvon Kitchen. The relay team finished second overall, recording a season-best time of 9:28.60, which adjusts to 9:18.97 after altitude conversion.
Freshman Jacob Robison won the 800-meter race with a personal record of 1:51.64, improving his previous collegiate best by over a second. Caleb Johnson competed in the mile event and finished second with a time of 4:10.53.
The Cougars are scheduled to compete next at the Big 12 Indoor Championships at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas on February 27, with coverage available on ESPN+.
