Jang and Zuleta lead Utah Valley at Lady Thunderbird Invitational with final-round 71s

Chloe Jang and Valentina Zuleta led Utah Valley in the final round of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational on March 8, each shooting a 1-under-par 71 at Sunbrook Golf Club.

Their performances helped Utah Valley secure fourth place out of nine teams, finishing with a three-round total of 42-over-par 906. Jang’s strong finish moved her up eight spots on the leaderboard, tying for ninth place overall with a score of 5-over-par 221 (77-73-71). She recorded two birdies on the back nine and made par on fifteen holes during her final round.

Zuleta also climbed eight places to tie for sixteenth, ending with a three-round score of 9-over-par 225 (78-76-71). Her round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-4 fourteenth hole and a birdie on the second hole.

Other team members contributed solid rounds as well. Rylie Rodriguez shot a final-round 77 to tie for twenty-sixth at 15-over-par, while Mia Pace matched that placement after carding a final-round 76. Maria Ortiz finished tied for thirty-first with a total score of sixteen over par, and Alyssa Butterfus tied for thirty-fourth at eighteen over par. Competing individually, Pati Uluave finished forty-seventh and Jacklyn Gonzalez placed fiftieth.

Utah Valley will continue its spring season at the Bobcat Desert Classic scheduled for April 13-14 at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona.
