Utah Valley University’s Isaac Hawkins and Sherman Weatherspoon IV were named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators, according to a March 24 announcement.

The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. The honor is given to those who have demonstrated strong performance in the classroom as well as on the court throughout the season.

Eligibility for Academic All-District consideration requires student-athletes to be at least sophomores academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, and participate in at least 90 percent of their team’s games. Weatherspoon, a junior guard from Bowie, Maryland, has a cumulative GPA of 3.56 while majoring in applied communication. He played in 32 games this season for Utah Valley, averaging five points per game with shooting percentages of 40.8 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range. One notable performance came during Utah Valley’s regular-season finale when he scored a career-high 27 points with six made three-pointers in an overtime win at Utah Tech that secured the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title.

Hawkins is a junior forward from Fort Mill, South Carolina, majoring in business and analysis with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. He appeared in all 34 games this season, averaging seven points and nearly four rebounds per contest while shooting over sixty-six percent from the field. Hawkins reached double figures twelve times during the year and recorded fifty total blocks—including three games with four blocks each—and had a double-double against West Coast Baptist with fourteen points and fourteen rebounds.

Utah Valley finished its season with an overall record of twenty-five wins and nine losses while securing its second consecutive outright Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship. The team also advanced to postseason play for the second straight year.

With their selection as Academic All-District honorees, Hawkins and Weatherspoon are now eligible for further recognition on the CSC Academic All-America Team ballot; first-, second-, and third-team selections will be announced April fourteenth.
