Head coach Lee Cummard announced on May 11 the signing of Prasayus Notoa to the BYU women’s basketball roster for the 2026-27 season.

Notoa, a versatile guard and forward from Queensland, Australia, was chosen for her skills both offensively and defensively. Cummard said, “Prasayus is a tough, versatile, competitive athlete. She has a well-rounded skillset that allows her to play inside with her back to the basket, and also stretch the floor by shooting the long ball at a high clip. On the defensive end, she has the quickness to guard on the perimeter and the strength and physicality to battle in the paint. She is going to be a great addition to our team as we look to build on the success of last season.”

Notoa selected BYU over UCLA and TCU after considering which program felt most like home. “My priority was going somewhere that felt like home,” Notoa told basketball.com.au. “During my visits, BYU felt like that for me…I can’t wait to head over to BYU to continue improving my game and developing. I’m just excited to get started, and keen to play with the girls and learn from all the coaches.”

Notoa brings experience from playing with Australia’s national team program as well as competing in NBL1 Queensland. Most recently she contributed significantly during Australia’s run for silver at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup by averaging efficient shooting percentages—54.8 percent from field goal range and 46.7 percent from three-point distance—and posting strong numbers across points, rebounds, assists, and steals.

She also led Queensland’s U20 team in consecutive years at national championships where she earned MVP honors in 2026 along with being named defensive player of that tournament while averaging double-doubles in points and rebounds per game.

Notoa will join BYU’s squad as they look ahead following their recent campaign ending with a trip to WBIT Championship game.
