Chloe Jang leads Utah Valley at Bobcat Desert Classic after two rounds

Chloe Jang led the Utah Valley University women’s golf team through two rounds of the Bobcat Desert Classic at Golf Club of Estrella, according to an April 14 update from the team.

Utah Valley is tied for 11th place out of 13 teams with a combined score of 40-over-par 616 after completing the first two rounds. The tournament will conclude with a final round on Wednesday.

Jang finished the second round tied for 29th individually, recording a total score of six-over-par 150 with rounds of 72 and 78. Teammates Maria Ortiz, Valentina Zuleta, and Rylie Rodriguez are each tied for 41st place at ten-over-par 154. Pati Uluave is tied for 68th at sixteen-over-par, while Alyssa Butterfus, competing as an individual, stands in seventy-ninth position at twenty-five-over-par.

Seattle currently leads the team standings with a score of two-over-par 578. Five players share the individual lead at two-under-par.

The Wolverines will complete their participation in this event before preparing for the upcoming Western Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship scheduled for April 20-22 at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
