Utah Valley’s Cambree Blackham was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Second Team and the WAC All-Defensive Team, according to a March 10 announcement by the conference ahead of the Air Force Reserve WAC Basketball Tournament.
Blackham, a sophomore from Lehi, Utah, has now received All-WAC honors for two consecutive seasons. She previously earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team during the 2024-25 season. In her first year as Utah Valley’s starting point guard, Blackham set new career highs by averaging 9.5 points and 4.2 assists per game. Her top scoring performance this season came against Tarleton State on Feb. 26, when she scored 19 points and made three three-pointers.
As a playmaker, Blackham recorded a career-high nine assists in a win over Kansas City and added eight assists in Utah Valley’s first-ever road victory at California Baptist. On defense, she broke Utah Valley’s single-season steals record with 80 steals entering the tournament and tied the school record for most steals in a game with eight against Weber State.
The WAC also announced other postseason awards: Abilene Christian guard Payton Hull was named Player of the Year; California Baptist swept several major honors with Emma Johansson as Defensive Player of the Year, Lauren Olsen as Freshman of the Year, Khloe Lemon as Sixth Player of the Year, and Jarrod Olson as Coach of the Year.
Blackham and her teammates will begin their tournament run on Thursday, March 12 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas against No. 5-seeded Tarleton State. A win would advance Utah Valley to face top-seeded California Baptist in Friday’s semifinals.
The recognition highlights Blackham’s impact on both ends of the court this season and sets expectations for her continued contributions as Utah Valley competes in postseason play.
