The BYU women’s tennis team will compete against Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, according to an April 28 announcement. The match is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. Mountain Time at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, California.

The Cougars, ranked No. 36 nationally with a record of 19-8 and a conference mark of 6-6 in the Big 12, earned an at-large bid after a strong regular season. Their performance through one of the nation’s most competitive conferences has prepared them for postseason play.

Stanford enters as the No. 29 seed with a record of 13-10 overall and a Pac-12 mark of 7-5. The Cardinal brings depth and postseason experience that is expected to challenge BYU across all six courts.

BYU will rely on its experienced players, including No. 107 Gracie Levelston at the top singles position. Levelston has provided consistent leadership throughout the season during high-pressure matches.

Doubles competition may be decisive for BYU, as pairs such as Levelston and Kendall Kovick have contributed significantly during close contests this year.

A win would advance BYU to the second round of tournament play.
