The BYU Cougars women’s track and field team has secured eight entries for the 2026 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Among the qualifiers is Jane Hedengren, who will compete in both the 3000-meter and 5000-meter events. Hedengren holds the fastest 5000m time in NCAA history with a mark of 14:44.79, nearly seven seconds ahead of previous records. She also posted the second-fastest 3000m time in the nation this season at the Millrose Games, finishing in 8:34.98. Hedengren recently won the Big 12 championship in the 3000m by almost ten seconds.

Chamberlain achieved this season’s top NCAA mile time with a run of 4:20.61 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 14. At the Millrose Games, she finished the 3000m in 8:43.16; her best indoor time for that distance is 8:40.89.
Jenna Hutchins earned her spot in the championships with a seventh-best national time of 8:44.04 in the 3000m at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
In sprinting events, Sami Oblad qualified for the 400m after setting a new school record and placing second at last week’s Big 12 Championships with a time of 51.48 seconds.
Zoey Bonds will represent BYU in the pentathlon following her personal best score of 4,239 points and a second-place finish at Big 12s.
The distance medley relay (DMR) team will aim to secure its third straight national title after winning another Big 12 championship last weekend.
