No. 46 BYU women’s tennis will travel to Salt Lake City to face No. 51 Utah in a Big 12 conference match at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center on Saturday.
BYU holds an 11–3 overall record and is ranked No. 46 in this week’s ITA Division I team rankings, while Utah is ranked No. 51 with a 6–5 overall record and an 0–2 mark in Big 12 play.
This matchup marks BYU’s third consecutive conference road game as they seek their first Big 12 victory of the season. The Cougars started the spring by winning 11 of their first 12 matches, including victories over Washington State, Denver, Memphis, and Boise State. They recently began Big 12 competition with road matches at UCF and Houston.
Throughout the season, BYU has shown strength across its lineup, securing wins in singles matches and often gaining early leads through doubles play.
Utah began its season with five straight home wins but returns to Salt Lake City after four consecutive losses, including defeats against Houston and UCF last week. Despite these recent setbacks, Utah remains undefeated at home this spring with a perfect record at the Eccles Tennis Center.
With only five spots separating them in the ITA rankings, Saturday’s match carries both rivalry significance and implications for conference standings as teams look to improve their positions for NCAA tournament consideration later this year.
The match between BYU and Utah is scheduled to begin at noon Mountain Time on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
