The No. 36 BYU women’s tennis team was awarded a Big 12 victory on Mar. 27 after No. 25 Oklahoma State forfeited Saturday’s scheduled match due to not having enough available players.
The match was set for noon at the Outdoor Tennis Courts in Provo. With the forfeit, BYU improved its overall record to 17-4 and now stands at 6-3 in Big 12 conference play, maintaining momentum as the season progresses.
Oklahoma State, known as the Cowgirls, dropped to an overall record of 8-8 and is now at 6-4 in conference play following the forfeit.
Earlier in the week, BYU secured a decisive win over No. 73 Kansas State with a score of 4-0 on Thursday in Provo. The Cougars claimed the doubles point and won three straight singles matches to clinch that contest. This latest development means BYU has won five consecutive matches and remains unbeaten at home this season.
Looking ahead, BYU will travel next week for two away matches: first against Baylor on Thursday, April 2 at Waco, Texas, followed by a contest with TCU on Saturday, April 4 in Fort Worth.
