BYU women’s golf to compete in Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on April 7-8

BYU women’s golf will compete in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona, on April 7 and 8.

The event marks BYU’s return to the Cowgirl Classic for the first time since it was hosted by Oklahoma State in 2020. The tournament provides an opportunity for the Cougars to test themselves against a field of 21 teams.

In their previous outing, BYU finished tenth at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, with Lily McCauley leading the team by tying for twenty-second place. The lineup for this week includes Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan, Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul, McCauley, Whitney Banz and Ava Schroeder. Berlin Long will participate as an individual competitor.

Teams joining BYU at Southern Dunes include host Wyoming along with New Mexico, UNLV, UC Riverside, New Mexico State, Long Beach State, Santa Clara, Eastern Washington, Oral Roberts, Iowa State, Arizona State, Gonzaga, UTEP, Southern Utah, Nevada, Boise State, Grand Canyon University (GCU), Sacramento State (CSUS), Montana and Fresno State.

Rounds one and two are scheduled to begin Monday at 8:30 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time. Fans can follow live scoring on Scoreboard as well as updates on Instagram and X.
