BYU women’s golf finished in 10th place at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, which concluded on March 17 at UT Golf Club in Austin, Texas. The Cougars posted a team score of 338-305-315–958, ending the tournament at 92-over par after a final round of 27-over.
The event saw strong competition, with host Texas winning the team title at 14-over par. Texas also produced the individual winner and had two additional players finish in the top ten. Arkansas secured second place at 35-over par, while Oklahoma moved ahead of LSU to claim third with a total of 40-over par. LSU finished fourth at 47-over par, and Pepperdine rounded out the top five with a score of 50-over par.
For BYU, Lily McCauley led the team by finishing tied for 22nd individually with rounds of 79-77-77 for a total score of 233, marking her eighth career top-25 finish as a Cougar. Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan tied for 35th after shooting rounds of 82-79-76 for a total of 237. Whitney Banz ended tied for 54th with scores of 87-76-81 (244), Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul tied for 63rd after carding rounds of 90-79-81 (250), and Berlin Long finished tied for 67th with scores of 94-73-84 (251).
The Cougars will use the coming weeks to prepare for their next event, the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, scheduled to take place April 7–8 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
