BYU gymnastics will participate in the evening session of the 2026 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship on March 21, facing Utah, Denver, and Arizona at the Maverik Center.

The event is significant as it brings together top-ranked teams from the Big 12 conference for a championship that determines standings and showcases team progress. The competition is split into two sessions, with the top four teams competing in the evening.

BYU enters the championship ranked No. 24 nationally and has maintained strong performances throughout the season. The team achieved a season-high score of 197.225 against Clemson, which ties for the ninth-highest in program history and marks its highest since 2022. BYU also earned new season-high scores on vault and beam, with its beam score ranking as the third-highest ever for the program. Brynlee Andersen-Broekman’s performance on beam earned her a meet-best score of 9.975.

This appearance marks BYU’s third time competing in the Big 12 Gymnastics Championship since joining the conference. Last year, BYU finished with its best conference record to date and saw Anna Bramblett-Wilde become its first-ever Big 12 Co-Bars Champion after tying with Utah’s MaKenna Smith.

Utah comes into the event after finishing its regular season undefeated in conference play and securing its second consecutive regular season title. Denver recently ended a streak of meets without falls on beam but posted one of its highest bars scores this year. Arizona placed second at a recent quad meet highlighted by multiple career- and season-best performances from its gymnasts.

The championship provides an opportunity for BYU to build on recent successes and further establish itself within the conference.
