BYU softball will host Houston for a three-game Big 12 series beginning Thursday, April 9, as part of its ongoing nine-game homestand.

The matchup brings together two teams near the bottom of the conference standings and could impact their positions in the league. BYU (11-26, 2-10 Big 12) aims to end a five-game losing streak, while Houston (20-22, 3-12 Big 12) comes off a series win at Baylor.

The games are scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. Mountain Time, Friday at the same time, and Saturday at noon. All games will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available through StatBroadcast.

BYU has struggled recently, including a close loss to Utah Valley where they left eight runners stranded despite out-hitting their opponent. The team is batting .248 during its current skid but maintains four players hitting above .300 this season: Danica Acosta (.326), Hailey Shuler (.320), Lily Owens (.313), and Hailey Morrow (.303). Pitchers Shuler and Mares have combined for most of BYU’s wins this year.

Houston holds a slight edge in momentum after defeating Baylor last weekend but has an overall road record of just four wins in ten attempts this season. The all-time series between BYU and Houston is tied at seven wins each; however, BYU swept all meetings last year.

After facing Houston, BYU will continue its homestand next week with additional games against Utah Tech.
