BYU softball will play Utah Valley in a midweek contest on March 24, according to a March 23 announcement. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Mountain Time and marks the 57th time the two teams have met.

The matchup is significant as BYU looks to continue its momentum after upsetting No. 23/21 Oklahoma State last week, earning both its first Big 12 Conference win and first victory over a Top 25 opponent this season. The Cougars had struggled earlier in Stillwater but managed to secure a key win behind Lily Owens’ strong batting performance and Jada Villegas’ complete game pitching effort.

So far this season, Hailey Shuler, Danica Acosta, and Owens lead BYU in batting average, with several other players close behind. In pitching statistics, Gianna Mares leads the team in innings pitched and strikeouts, while Kaysen Korth and Shuler have recorded the lowest earned run averages.

The series history favors BYU with a record of 49-7 against Utah Valley overall and a record of 21-5 when playing at Orem. Last year’s meetings were split between the two teams, each winning on the road.

After facing Utah Valley, BYU will return home for its first home Big 12 series of the season against Kansas beginning March 26.
