BYU guards Delaney Gibb and Olivia Hamlin have been named to the Big 12 Starting Five, with Hamlin also earning Co-Freshman of the Week honors. This is the second time this season that both players have received these respective recognitions.

Gibb and Hamlin contributed a combined 48 points in BYU’s recent 86-74 victory over Utah in Salt Lake City. Gibb set a new career high with 37 points, surpassing her previous best of 36 points, which she achieved against Utah last year. In addition to her scoring, Gibb recorded five assists, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks during the game.

Gibb shot 61.9 percent from the field and made five out of eight three-point attempts. She is now one of only three BYU players in the past decade to score more than 35 points in a game, having done so twice on the road at Utah. Over the week, she led the Big 12 in scoring with an average of 28.5 points per game on 66.7 percent shooting from three-point range and ranked among league leaders in assists, steals, rebounds, and blocks.

With her recent performances, Gibb has moved up several spots in BYU’s all-time records. She is now seventh on the all-time scoring list with an average of 17.32 points per game and has reached 16th place for career three-point field goals made with 120. Gibb also ranks second in three-point field goals per game (2.40), fourteenth in career three-point percentage (36.1%), and sixth in career assists per game (4.20).

Hamlin averaged 13.5 points, two rebounds, two steals, and one assist for the week as BYU completed a season sweep over Utah. In Saturday’s win against Utah, she scored eleven points with three rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Earlier against Cincinnati, Hamlin had sixteen points along with three steals.

Hamlin’s four steals this week moved her into seventh place on BYU’s all-time freshman steals list with fifty-one total steals. She also ranks sixth among freshmen for steals per game (1.82), seventh for three-point field goals made (40) and per game (1.43), eighth for total points scored (349) and made field goals (132), ninth for points per game (12.46), and tenth for minutes played per game (28:09).

BYU will play Arizona State on Wednesday before returning home to face Colorado on Saturday for Senior Day at the Marriott Center. Both games will be available via streaming on ESPN+ as well as radio coverage through BYU Radio.
